   NOT A SCAM! I work for Vodafone outbound sales, and I can confirm this is our number that we call existing customers from, if you call the number back a generated voice message tells you the reason why Vodafone is calling. The way the system works is that it will continue to call the mobile # until someone picks up, if there is silence upon pick up, the system recognizes this silence as Voicemail hence the calls get disconnected. No payment is asked for, only unless customers purchase a mobile device. Yes we ask for driver licence/passport details, as any other company would if you are going to be billed by them. We also send verification text message if we get that far in the conversation. Hope this clears things up for confused customers :)

   Mobile phone rang, picked it up, no response then they hung up. I called back from another number - and got a recorded message advising that this is Vodafone trying to contact me. Probably legit - I am a Vodafone customer.

   Not Vodafone, Vodafone will not call you unless you request them to.

   They call me once every couple of weeks never picked up asked around to make sure it wasn't anyone I knew and then blocked the number
